Aahaann Chavan rising Star from
UCMAS South Africa
Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic Systems' (UCMAS) student, Aahaann Chavan (7), from Johannesburg in South Africa, obtained a 3rd placing in the 21st International UCMAS Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition held in Dubai in November 2016. This was his first participation in the UCMAS international competition.
More than 34 countries were represented by ± 3 000 students. 19 students from UCMAS South Africa qualified to participate in Dubai. Aahaann only had 8 minutes to complete 200 questions. Armed with self-confidence and determination, he only had the acquired MENTAL ARITHMETIC skills such as concentration, observation, imagination, judgment, application and reasoning to help him achieve this auspicious performance. NO calculator, ONLY his brain and UCMAS skills.
Aahaann only began practicing the art of UCMAS in February 2016. Since then Aahaann managed to complete three levels and will soon start his fourth level. Few pupils progress as quick and strong as Aahaann has on the UCMAS programme.
Aahaann will continue to work extremely hard to prepare him for the 22nd International Competition in Bali, Indonesia in December 2017. Aahaan's dad Maahesh had the following to say: "Aahaann made us proud by winning the trophy at the 21st UCMAS International Competition held in Dubai, and we are happy to have such a loving son. We are delighted and happy parents. Aahaann attended his first International UCMAS competition and participated in Visual where he achieved the highest mark of all South African participants, and Listening where he did single digit sums up to 40 rows mentally. Well done Aahaann! Sincere thanks to Tiaan Janse van Rensburg and Harshada Siddapur(Great UCMAS mentors to Aahaann), and thanks to Judy Janse van Rensburg for all the support from UCMAS South Africa Head office. We are proud and happy to be part of UCMAS South Africa and Houghton! Let's get ready for Bali 2017!" - Maahesh Chavan
UCMAS is a unique and scientifically-proven brain development programme designed for children to develop their latent mental power at a very early age, when the brain development is reaching its peak. The programme is for children between ages of 4 and 13 years and it offers the young learners an opportunity to accelerate their progress in mental ability, mental development and mental excellence. Learners practice using an age-old tool, THE ABACUS, and they develop arithmetic ability to speedy calculation, regardless of the complexity, USING ONLY THE BRAIN as their tool.
UCMAS makes learning very easy without any unnecessary stress. - Education with a difference!
